HAPPY NEW YEAR YA’LL! It’s 2020! Who knew we would make it, and tbh let’s see if we make it through jk buuuuuut not really. Anyway we jump right in like we never left!

First off thank you all for responding to our 2019 Listener Survey! We appreciate all your responses and feedback and we’re excited to incorporate it into the podcast!

In “Currento Eventos” we start by discussing our understanding of the Iran conflict that Dump has unneccesarily escalated, we talk about the bush fires in Australia and Aboriginal practices to take care of the land, finally we end by discussing the anti-blackness on display against Blue Ivy Carter (who’s birthday was yesterday! Happy Birthday Blue!), Ari Lennox the Queen of Thighs, and Teyanna Taylor who is truly an icon.

In “What’s your baggage” we dive deep into the new year energy by talking about blindspots and educating ourselves even more about issues groups face that we may not be familiar with. We talk about why it’s important to continually engage in this process and discuss honestly some of the problematic ideas we had to acknowledge we internalize.

For “Put it in your bag” Lina talks about the new Steven Universe Future spinoff and Estephanie lets us know about her love for The Sims 4 again! Honestly EA Games CUT US A CHECK!

Finally for our rotating theme we read a listener letter and give our perspective on rekindling friendships. Then Lina send us off with the first affirmation of 2020!
