Things are HEATING UP in the U.S. Senate this week. On this episode of the BASEDBrief, Hannah & Brad break down highlights from the first few days of the confirmation hearing for Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson. Then, they go through and debunk a really nasty smear lobbed against Judge Jackson by GOP Senator Josh Hawley. 

 

Next, they highlight the shocking disparity between the breathless coverage of Russia’s bloody invasion of Ukraine and near-zero public attention given to the US’s support for a brutal civilian war in Yemen that’s wrought even more bloodshed. 

 

Then, they round out the show on a light note by reacting to some cringe clips from the most popular “alpha male” podcasts cropping up in strange corners of the internet. Finally, they read some listener mail and a poem one listener wrote dedicated to BASEDPolitics.
