In week 6 of our study of Hosea Lee Woodmansee dives into chapter 8 of the book. In this section we see how Hosea's message mirrors three great mistakes we make in our own lives. The three mistakes we make are in thinking that certain things save us when they do not. We often think that our persuasiveness or planning saves us, we think that our relationships or people save us, or maybe we think that our religious activity and religiosity saves us. None of these things are true.
Hosea shows Israel that they need something greater than what they can conjure in order to be saved, and that greater thing is Jesus.
