In 2 Kings chapter 12 King Joash derives a plan to work with the temple priests to set aside funds from offerings to save for repairing the temple. We discuss the importance of leadership and the snares often involved in church leadership which include the temptation of dishonesty with money. The response when the priests, after some time, do not have money for repairs is to set up an accountability system whereby the money is counted by two people. We have a good discussion about how bringing our vices into the light by recruiting a trusted person to keep as accountable is always a good strategy.
