The exercise of free will is a thing of irony. While we want freedom, we often don't want to experience the consequences of having manifested our freedoms in ways orthogonal to God's direction. Tonight the boys read about the Kings of Judah and Israel in a trying situation, made completely from their own decisions and observe them turning to God in anger for their circumstances. We discuss how we see this take place today and even, at times, in our own lives.
