Dr. Jacobs has more than three decades of experience working with professional athletes — from Major League baseball, football and basketball players to soccer, hockey, golf and tennis pros. He was one of the first sport psychologists to work with a US Olympic team. During his years as the US Cycling Team’s sports psychologist, they won a record nine medals at the 1984 Olympics — the first cycling medals for the US in 72 years. Dr. Jacobs has served as the team psychologist for the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Comets, and numerous athletes and coaches from a variety of professional and Olympic teams as well as the Australian National Swim Team. Additionally, he has served as a consultant for the US Swimming and Weight Lifting Federations, the PGA and USTA and the US Olympic Committee’s Sports Psychology Registry.
