Join Jill Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 8:00 EST as she interviews guest Lois Hollis on Best of The Best, Connect Soul to Soul.

Lois calls herself a Shame/Guilt Educator although others call her a coach, counselor, therapist, and guide. She has redefined shame and guilt which challenges current dogma and treatments. It offers a way to diminish shame and guilt behaviors in our lives and continues to increase in effectiveness over time. We can reclaim our innate self-esteem to express authenticity without intimidation.

Lois was born in 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland and earned her RN registered nurse degree from St. Joseph Hospital and achieved her BSN Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. For thirty years she gained significant experience as a nurse in various departments of medicine such as open heart surgery, neurosurgery, and gastroenterology. However, she spent most of her nursing career in the area of Nephrology, the treatment of kidney disorders. In 1966, with her talents in research, teaching and consulting, Lois helped establish one of the first kidney hemodialysis units in the United States at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and then consulted with other dialysis centers. Before the availability of the hepatitis vaccine, she contained a hepatitis epidemic and developed protocols for hepatitis management in hemodialysis.

After her retirement from the kidney field, Lois married and was privileged to raise three beautiful girls. Despite her many accomplishments, she eventually succumbed to headaches, guilt-ridden depression with heart disease and structural deformities. After two decades with traditional medical and psychological professions, she entered the world of holistic health and soon discovered that her emotional and physical health weaves together to produce either health or disease. The deeper she investigated her feelings, the more she could remember.

One day, to her amazement, Lois recalled a near-death experience in childhood and the following day experienced a spontaneous kundalini experience. From that time, she spontaneously wrote universal principles as they applied to emotional and spiritual health which birthed her first book “The Universe Speaks. She also began to communicate with her emotions and came to learn a way to heal by releasing the shame and guilt they still carried from childhood abuse. She discovered that unconscious emotions stockpile repressed shame and guilt. Once her emotions could release the shame and guilt, they accepted, both she and her emotions healed. She then attended film school to create “Out of Discord Into Harmony” which illustrates how we can make friends with our feelings and help them released the shame and guilt they accepted. She now had a way to live in health.

Through many years of struggle, learning, and research she not only regained her health but has a new level of vibrancy. She loves to walk, travel, and snow ski. And of course, treasures the time with her children, grandchildren, and loving partner.

Today as a Reverend, Lois shares how shame/guilt has led us down a path of trauma and how we can break free of its entanglement to empower and enjoy our lives with the greatness of our purpose.

Lois’s latest book is “Emotional Revolution = Evolution, Releasing Shame/Guilt”
