Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak have rejected calls to resign, despite being fined by police for breaking lockdown rules in Downing Street in June 2020. Their refusal to go led to the resignation of Justice Minister Lord Wolfson. He told the prime minister, "the scale, context and nature of those breaches mean that it would be inconsistent with the rule of law for that conduct to pass with constitutional impunity." Despite his resignation, only two Tory MPs have called on the prime minister to quit since he was fined.

Today’s Nick Robinson spoke to Conservative MP and Chair of the Defence Select Committee Tobias Ellwood about the PM’s position. Also on the programme speaking to Mishal Husain was the Secretary of State for Wales Simon Hart.(Image Credit: Press Association)
