Speaking to Today’s Mishal Husain, Red Cross Director of Operations Dominik Stillhart – who was in Ukraine last week – says it’s ‘absolutely urgent’ that humanitarian aid is delivered to Mariupol and that civilians are evacuated. The city is effectively sealed off from the world, and information about what is happening inside is difficult to confirm independently. Nick Osychenko is one of the few people who has managed to get out of Mariupol over the past few weeks. He tells Mishal that, despite having fled to Zaporizhzhia in mid-March with his family, the war is not far away.
