Getting through to a GP in England is becoming increasingly difficult. Demand has bounced back since the pandemic, and it’s getting harder to recruit new doctors. Staff in Bristol say they have never seen pressure like this before. Doctor Rachel Warrington is based at a surgery in the south of Bristol – a surgery where they have had one vacancy for a GP that's been open for five months without a single applicant. Speaking to Today’s Justin Webb, she says she can spend up to five hours a day doing paperwork for the 18,000 patients she looks after.
