The multi-award winning, best-selling novelist Zadie Smith's first play makes it's world premiere on Wednesday. The comedy, The Wife of Willesden, is an adaptation of The Wife of Bath's tale from Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales. The 14th Century medieval text, written in rhyming couplets has been translated into a contemporary story set in north-west London, where she was born and raised.

The BBC's arts correspondent, Rebecca Jones, speaks to Zadie Smith in her only UK interview.
