On this episode of KSL's beyond the badge, we honor Officer Vernon Herrst of the Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison. Officer Herrst found that many of the inmates were stagnant with their education. When asked, many said they were on the waiting list to take classes. Officer Herrst decided to take it upon himself to have the inmates start teaching each other, and it's had a great affect on the inmates.
