Episode 12: Stephan Kerby, author of “You are the change. A beginners guide to socially responsible investing.” - a podcast by E. Alice Kerby

It doesn't matter if you aren't sure where to start with investing or if you have an established portfolio--this is the episode for you! 

Most importantly, if you are passionate about making change in the world--Stephan is the guy to walk you through it. 

It was a pleasure to sit down with my big brother and learn more about what socially responsible investing actually is and why it is the standard in Canada and most European countries. He makes it clear that aligning yourself with companies who share your values is as profitable in investing with those who don't. 

Stephan shares his story of transitioning to a plant based diet when his 2 year old daughter was born as a means to create better health and more energy. This dietary change led him down a path of education and realization of where he wanted to create change in the world. 

This path has led him to write his recent book, "You are the change. A beginners guide to socially responsible investing.” 

This book is a guide to socially responsible investing and shareholder advocacy that both educates and motivates the reader. Stephan is giving this book away until 1,000 copies have been given away with the intent of spreading the message and recruiting more socially conscious people to take a stand and use their investments to make a change.

I left this interview feeling empowered in both my ability to invest and to invest in companies that reflect my values. I felt empowered that I could  actually make a change on a broader scale using the strategies Stephan shared.
