After receiving medical approval for his return to action, Dante Caballero opted to move abroad after learning of the existence of Maryland Championship Wrestling from a Patrick Clark interview in WWE's Tough Enough VI. Settling down at Washington D.C., Caballero was able to join the promotion after completing an entry interview. Meanwhile, he reworked his character into Dante Caballero, las incorporating elements from popular culture and series such as Narcos. At MCW, he was subjected to further development, being matched against Lio Rush (at Seasons Beatings 2016) and Billy Gunn among others. Caballero rose quickly trough the ranks, winning the MCW Rage Television and MCW Tag Team Championships in 2017. He held on to this title until he turned on partner Joe Keys in 2018, capturing the MCW Heavyweight Championship later in the same event.

During this time, he also made appearances for Beyond Wrestling, Xtreme Wrestling Alliance and Evolve, among other promotions. During the summer of 2018, Caballero had a tryout for Ring of Honor, from which he was included in the Future of Honor program.

Born Edgardo A. Colón from proud Puerto Rican parents, and strong political dynasty in the town of Orocovis in the Island of Puerto Rico.
Obsessed with creating his own legacy, Dante adopted the last name Caballero, and left his family name and country behind as he enrolled in to the MCW pro wrestling training center to become a professional wrestler. Caballero found early success as he became Rage TV champion, Tag Team Champion and the MCW Heavyweight Champion in less than 3 years since his pro-debut.

Pride and creating his legacy is what drives Caballero to be one of the best and a perfect way to start is in the ROH dojo for Future of Honor.
