Dr Sirin Guven is a gastroenterologist and clinical researcher with a special interest in children’s health and how probiotics can help improve childhood health. Dr Guven graduated with a medical degree from Varna Medical University, Bulgaria, and worked for many years in the Zeynep Kamil Maternity & Children’s Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey.
She was then the Head of the Peadiatrics Department at Umraniye Hospital in Istanbul for 10 years, and has recently taken on a teaching and research-focussed role at the University of Health Sciences in Istanbul, where she is an Associate Professor of Paediatrics. Dr Guven has authored or co-authored numerous papers on the benefits of probiotics for children and the importance of the microbiota for maintaining digestive health.
