Dr Flavia Indrio is a gastroenterologist and clinical researcher with a special interest in children’s digestive health and how probiotics can help improve childhood gastrointestinal issues. She is an Associate Professor of Paediatrics and a Senior Consultant Medical Physician in Paediatric Gastroenterology at the University of Bari in Italy. Dr Indrio teaches paediatric gastroenterology and nutrition to Medical Residents at the Bari University Hospital as well as seeing patients clinically herself and conducting research in the area of infant and childhood digestive health. She is a Member of the The European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) and the Secretary of the ESPGHAN Working Group on Gut Microbiota. Dr Indrio has authored or co-authored numerous papers on the benefits of probiotics for infants and children.
