In man’s pride, they actually tried to create their own tower to get to God (Genesis 4:16-18), the Bible says he looked down, teaching that the tower had no power or capability to unite them with God. So he created languages to confuse the people. And as they got confused they spread throughout the earth.  

 That’s why Acts 17 says God set the boundaries of this land so that we could seek him. God scattered the people in hope they might seek Him. Your language and nationality is a reminder of you needing to seek God.
