On Episode 9 Colah B Tawkin celebrates 1000 followers on the gram  and looks forward to making a lasting impact for the culture of black plant keepers. The Kwanzaa principle of self determination, Kujichagulia is the word to live by that may or may not be pronounced correctly and that's aight!

We're welcomed into The Urban Academic's (aka Dr. Hayley) garden of wisdom.  The Urban Academic is a Dr. of Public Health who's read 'all of them books!' She shares wisdom she learned from her dad as a young gardener, encourages us of to see the value in urban food forests and waxes on black sustainability practices (including leftovers in the whipped cream tub). Dr. Hayley breaks down the differences in home and 'un'schooling and helps us understand how we can use the garden as an organic classroom  as well as unschool our black children regardless of the chosen institution.  Colah has so many Aha moments she had to invite The Urban Academic back for an episode in the spring to drop some more gardening gems on us.
