Noel Anthony Clarke is an actor, screenwriter and director. Born in London, Noel grew up in Ladbroke Grove, Notting Hill, he studied media at the University of North London, before moving into acting. Noel is best known for his roles in TV shows like Bulletproof, Doctor Who and features like Star Trek Into Darkness, Mute, 4,3,2,1 which he directed and co-wrote and Kidulthood, Adulthood and Brotherhood.


We spoke to Noel about his journey into acting and his early career working as a personal trainer alongside doing acting jobs. Noel tells us about his time living in Ladbroke Grove, Notting Hill, not far from Grenfell Tower and how the landscape has changed very little from the time he was a child.


We talk about diversity and the challenges Noel has faced in life as well as in the industry, even in recent years where he has taken to social media to speak about it, there seems to be little or no change.
