After the sheer ridiculousness of SEED OF CHUCKY, there was a nine-year gap in the CHILD’S PLAY franchise, leaving fans wondering if we’d ever see another installment. When the kibosh was put on Don Mancini’s planned remake, things really weren’t looking good.

CURSE OF CHUCKY, the darkest offering since the original 1988 film, came seemingly out of nowhere, and things started looking up again. Sure, this installment would be going straight to video, but never look a killer doll in the mouth. Or something.

James Garibay, the biggest Chucky fanatic I know, sits down with me to take a look at the sequel which expands upon the life of Charles Lee Ray. It’s a chilling little pot-boiler that shows an era before his soul was permanently coated in plastic, with a few nasty kills tossed in for good measure.
