“So much flesh, so little time…”

It’s 2023 and here on The Blind Rage Podcast, we’re celebrating 25 years of Dee Snider’s STRANGELAND!

What’s that? You’ve never heard of STRANGELAND? Oh dear…

Once upon a time, there were these things called “chat rooms,” which you could find in a variety of places on the net. You’d keep your identity hidden (no pictures, no names, and sometimes, no genders). Your screenname was essentially all you gave. Hard to believe, being that we’re living in a time with social media, where everyone knows everything about everyone.

Back in the ‘90s, it was incredibly risky to meet in the flesh an individual you encountered in one of these chat rooms—and Carlton Hendricks is a perfect example why. Using the screenname CaptHowdy (a reference to THE EXORCIST, FOR THE UNITIATED), he lures unsuspecting youths to his chamber of horrors. It is there that they’re subjected to various brands of torment, genital piercing being the most notorious of them all. When Detective Mike Gage’s teenage daughter (played by a young Linda Cardellini) becomes CaptHowdy’s most recent victim, it’s a race against the clock to save her before she meets her gruesome demise.
