Gun Violence. Is there a remedy? - a podcast by Body of Christ

The 2nd amendment guarantees American citizens the right to bear arms.  What happens when there is ensuing bloodshed and death as a result of that right?  Is the right to bear arms also synonymous  with the right to maim and murder? The incidence of gun violence and mass shooting is increasing at an alarming rate.  From parishioners to concert attendees to students, many have been affected either directly or indirectly by gun violence.  Heated debates continue as lawmakers attempt to find a solution to this divisive and deadly problem but are they only looking to find solutions at the surface level?  Should background checks be more extensive to include mental and psychological evaluation?  Should only a certain type of ammunition be used?  Should the sale of firearms be more restricted?   Should American society in general focus on the gun itself or should American society look at itself?  Is it about the gun or the individual using it?  Should the burden of finding a remedy to this problem lie solely upon the shoulders of lawmakers or should we as citizens turn to the Holy Bible for solutions?  Do the scriptures offer counsel as to how to handle and maintain a firearm?  Can the Bible offer us route to a peaceful remedy without further bloodshed and death?
