NICE has outlined that fremanezumab can be used for migraine prevention in adults if (NICE TA 631, 2020):
- Chronic migraine (headache on ?15d/m, with migraine features on ?8d/m for >3m)
- AND ?3 preventative drugs have failed
- AND the company supplies the drug at a discounted cost to the NHS (discount amount unknown).
Treatment should be stopped if migraine frequency doesn’t reduce by ?30% after 12w.
