Sal Licata is in for Boomer today. Gio says he and Sal tried to volunteer to do shows on the stream 10 years ago or more and weren’t allowed to. So they are very excited to be on WFAN together this morning. Baseball is back, but Gio said competitive balance is still not there. So teams that don’t want to spend money don’t have to spend money and be competitive. Gio is still not happy with baseball and will not pay to go to a game this year. He doesn’t like that we are all of a sudden happy with baseball again. Sal says baseball should be an escape in this time of war and gas being over $5 a gallon. Gio&Sal talk about baseball disrespecting the fans. In what other relationship would you do that? Peter Schwartzis in for Jerry. He starts with audio from Rob Manfred saying baseball is back. Rob Manfred apologizes. There will be advertising on jerseys and helmets. Ben Simmons returns to Philly to boos and other things. We discuss NFL locker rooms and ‘bigger’ guys. Peter wears a XXXL T-shirt. Final segment of the hour, Gio says if Sal was working overnight he would have been saying baseball is his first love. Gio talks about his days in Pittsburgh when the sports station first launched. Sal once had a bad interview with Paul Heyman of the WWE.
