076 - Ben Bowler from SendMusic - a podcast by Grahame Farmer

Age 27 and already a tech entrepreneur (as you know, he built live DJ streaming service, Chew.tv, into a 500k community and sold it to BandLab), Ben Bowler built the SendMusic app from scratch while also undertaking an incredible 2-year solo bike ride around the world.

Armed only with a laptop and mobile phone for testing, he cycled 23,000km alone across the world, experiencing different cultures, incredible high and lows, physical and mental challenges and more, until his adventure was prematurely ended by Covid-19 and an emergency flight home from Java Island. In this podcast, Ben gives his insights into why he and co-founder Kemal Mermutlu (BBC Radio 1 - Producer of Diplo & Friends) decided to build SendMusic. What problems they identified within the unreleased music eco-system, and what changes they hope SendMusic can make to industry working practices. SendMusic is already being used by BBC Radio 1’s Mistajam, Benji B and 1Xtra’s Jamz Supernova, among many others, as an all-in-one music file transfer and collaborative platform.
