In many ways 1977 is the real start of this story, both personally and globally. Anything that came before was, in hindsight, back-story, context and childhood.

1976 saw political change around the world (a new US president and a new UK prime minister) and it ended with London families witnessing The Sex Pistols confronting the establishment while they settling down for tea in-front of early-evening regional television.

Less significant and being noticed by a far smaller audience, I turned 11 in 1977 and, in September, left Northleach CofE Primary School to start Westwoods Grammar School. I made friends there that I discovered and created music with for many years to come.

But that's the future. Welcome to the now of 1977.
