The Monday Morning Xtra Point crew, former NFL quarterback Brandon Doughty & Len Martez got together for another podcast after week eight, but because of the trading deadline, Brandon & Len had more than just on the field action to discuss.
The MMXP crew began the podcast by reviewing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss to the New Orleans Saints, their second loss of the season. Both Brandon & Len agreed that the Bucs were their own worst enemy against the Saints.
Brandon & Len moved on from the Bucs loss to talk about the Green Bay Packers & quarterback Aaron Rodgers. First, they broke down the Packers traveling to Arizona during a short week without three of their top receivers & giving the Cardinals their first loss of the season. Then Brandon & Len addressed Rodgers testing positive for COVID 19 & being unavailable to play in a crucial matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in week nine.
After discussing a few of the top teams in the NFC, Brandon & Len talked about the Tennessee Titans, the top seed in the AFC. And even though the Titans got a big win in Indianapolis against the Colts, they suffered a loss when their running back Derrick Henry went down with a season-ending right foot injury.
Brandon & Len wrapped up the podcast by talking about the league's biggest trade when the Los Angeles Rams acquired Super Bowl MVP linebacker Von Miller & the biggest surprise of week eight, which was the New York Jets win over the Cincinnati Bengals, led by quarterback Mike White, who Brandon knows very well from their days at Western Kentucky together.
