In this week’s episode, we will be expounding on principles to enjoy dominion.

The Lord said to Abram after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever. I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted. Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.” (Genesis 13:14).

1- God must speak over the territory that He will give you.

You cannot exercise dominion over something that is not legally given to you. The legal way of entering dominion is when God speaks over your life and over a matter. In order to have legal rule and dominion, you must first hear from God.

If you want to experience the rule of God over any territory, you must first labor in prayer until He speaks a Word to you. To exercise dominion you must hear the voice of God.

2- Walk over the territory as a King, and let the Spirit of God cover it. Mark it by raising altars.

There’s a way of walking on a territory as a visitor, and another way of walking as the landowner. God instructed Abraham to arise and walk the length and breadth of the land because He wanted his spirit to touch and cover the land.

Before God could exercise dominion He released His Spirit to cover the waters of the earth. After covering, then He spoke. (Genesis 1).

Abraham became the covering of an entire location, by hearing God and physically covering the territory.

Inward Growth

You cannot exercise dominion to a place where your spirit has not reached.

Every environment bends to the liking of the ruling spirit. Ask yourself the question, does the taste and organization of my home reflect the Spirit of God in me?

Before ruling a territory, the light in you must cover it.

In the book of Genesis, the serpent came into Adam's territory and introduced his spirit, by sharing his thoughts and his spirit of rebellion. He infiltrated Adam’s territory by sharing words from another realm and dominion.

Words have a point of origin. They come from a spirit (a location).

In the kingdom of God, ownership and spiritual dominion is enforced. Even if something is yours, it can be challenged and must be contended for. Demonic spirits don’t give territories freely.

Therefore, as children of God, we must continue to grow in understanding His ways and principles to take possession of our inheritance in Christ.
