National Security Adviser Michael Flynn resigned late last night amid controversy about his contact with the Russian ambassador. In his resignation letter, Flynn said he "inadvertently briefed the vice president-elect and others with incomplete information." Previously he claimed he had never spoken to the Russians about sanctions imposed on Russia in the final days of President Obama's administration.

His resignation comes just 25 days into the Trump administration, which Robert G. Loftis, a professor of international relations at Boston University, said is a new record. Loftis spoke with us this morning about Flynn's resignation and what the president should look for in his next national security adviser.
