Rachel Jordan is a Sagittarius sun, (We get it, Bee. You like Sags. Also this is my Jupiter Return year- oh my!) Libra moon, Aries Rising native originally from the Midwest now living in sunny LA. She was just a girl with a dream living a life with better weather who stumbled upon a career as a celebrity (vegan) dog groomer. But, what Rachel is really passionate about is ASMR. Rachel has been making ASMR videos for only a few months but has been a fan for years- and we both share a special love of the same ASMR artist, Karuna Satori whom we fall asleep listening to regularly. I’ve had insomnia my whole life and I swear between Karuna and Rachel’s videos- I’ve conquered the ongoing battle between myself and the pillow. This week we do a small dive into the world of ASMR. What is ASMR? Why is it so freaking healing? We discover the secret of life is just following your joy and living in action not worry. Finally, we discuss what it’s like to live in Delaware, California, and Chicago and the unique experience of living on every coast and the punishment of trying to make friends in a new city. I talk the social currency of all 3 cities and what “fuck you” really means in each respective city. ✨ Burn Black also launches its audio zine book club with the help of Oklahoma librarian, Reagan Kloiber this week. I answer questions you sent in and go on a rant about why Kristen Doute gets a bad edit on Vanderpump Rules & explain why I think she is the heart of the show. ✨ I share a breathwork technique to help with anxiety. ✨ Self Care tip of the week sent in by Robert Herrera of the band Long Knives from Oakland, California ✨ This is a stacked audio zine episode. ✨ Rachel’s YouTube channel: YouTube.com/c/racheljordanasmr @rachelxvx and @rachelcolantgrooming on Instagram ✨ Every pop culture reference on this episode: Joni Mitchell, Courtney Love, Karuna Satori ASMR, Massage ASMR, Friends, Frasier, Vanderpump Rules, Mad Men, My So Called Life
