It's just hours before The Cross, and Jesus had just told His disciples that He would be going away and said, "You will see not see Me, and you will see Me." The disciples were confused undoubtedly, but Jesus was trying to prepare them for things to come. His death on the Cross, which would be undeniably painful not only for Jesus Himself, but for His disciples to witness. But our Lord never leaves us without hope! Joy will come... Jesus was also telling them —You will see Me again! And indeed they would. We are blessed, as believers to have that same promise... But we must count the cost to follow Him.
