The countdown had begun until the March on springfield for Marriage Equality on October 22 becomes a reality. Busses are scheduled to leave from all parts of Chicago taking LGBTQ persons and their allies to Springfield. In Springfield there is a real Pep Rally scheduled with many performers and activist taking part. This show of support has been long coming. Will Illinois be the 14 state to make it legal for same sex couples to marry and enjoy the same rights as a man and woman who marry?   Kim L. Hunt, Affinity Community Services’ (Affinity’s) first executive director it is responsible for the outcomes of Affinity’s initiatives in health and wellness, civic engagement, leadership development, and immigration reform. Ms. Hunt is a member of the  planning committee for the March on Springfield for Marriage Equality.She has three children and she and her partner, who have been together for over 14 years, celebrated the first year of their civil union in July 2013. They look forward one day to being able to say they are married. Join us as we start the Pep Rally in Chicago and travel with thousands that are scheduled to converge on Springfield, October 22. If you cannot make the rally in Springfield represent by wearing a color of the LGBTQ Flag that day in unity for the cause.
