Rick has served as a consultant on gay, lesbian and transgender issues to a wide range of elected and appointed officials. He is currently policy adviser to The Civil Rights Agenda." Rick brings a lot to the LGBTQ community with organization and passion. He was a key organizer and lobbyist for the passage of the City of Chicago Human Rights Ordinance (1988), Cook County Human Relations Ordinance (1993) and an amendment adding sexual orientation and gender identity to the Illinois Human Rights Act. Tonight Rick will tell us a little about last week and the weeks before and what it took to get us to this point. He will also tell us about the task we have ahead of us. Also joining Rick tonight will be Chicago couple KATRINA (TREY) and RAYN MADDOX a couple who look to marry one day legally because it is their right. On Dec 3, 2011 Trey had a surprise Engagement Party with family and close friends and proposed to Rayn and now they both are happy and excited to plan their future together.
