Once again, Canadians were thrown into a situation where their leaders did not prepare. 

Over the course of two weeks, Canadians would lose and retake a hill that overlooked the Ypres area, resulting in over 8,000 casualties.

It was a pivotal battle, and the only time Germans seized Canadian guns.
