LionsBridge was formed in late 2018 by lead singer Jahvin Purnell, who invited friends over to jam out in his father’s garage. Jahvin’s, a current Monroe Scholar student at William and Mary College, love for#Reggae started at birth, from attending reggae shows and many reggae festivals across the country with his family. The band became more solid, when “Strong” Joe Corbin, close to a 40-year veteran reggae drummer in Virginia, joined forces with LionsBridge, followed up by Vincent Biggs” James as Dub Master and Sound Engineer- a former guitar player of Bottom Line and Session Rockers. The band includes as well, guitarists Kamarin Kim and Jimmy Salvador, percussionist Jeremy Sanchez, and Michael Harvey on the keys. Add in Jahvin’s best friends from high school, on the horn squad and bass backbone, bassist Isak Crane, Mark “Marky Mark” Coleman on sax, Chandler “Fuzzy Malone” Mullins on sax, and trombone player Khemia “Mia JAde” Jeter, and you’ve got a full sounding band with a deep knowledge of classic reggae tunes that keep people dancing. The band will be performing at the ‘One Love’ Roots Reggae Festival, September 18th, with Julian #Marley, son of Bob Marley in Raleigh, North #Carolina. Part proceeds will go to help Crescent Primary in Jamaica to purchase well needy desks for students.
