The pictures of Ahmet Oran are the result of a process of covering and re-opening them. One could call him an archeologist of painting. To a large part, his new pictures were made in Istanbul, the hometown of the painter and his source of inspiration. In these pictures, the energy and colourful diversity of the megalopolis become palpable to the observer.
We visited him in his studio together with his gallerist Cem Angeli and produced a short portrait.
