Anselm Kiefer - Myth of Man
In our interview the artist Anselm Kiefer talks about his work on the myth of man. In his analogies between microcosm and macrocosm, and of man and universe, he uses elements of cultural and ideological history in order to extract new conclusions from them in his intuitive arrangements.

Kiefer is a literary, philosophical and spiritual artist between art and science, who by appropriation of the myths of history tries to reinstall the narratives that provide us with an instant framework for the interpretation of the meaning of life.
As bearer of the attributes of artistic grandiosity, namely the narcissistic belief in the omnipotence of artistic creativity, Kiefer identifies with the cult figures of German history and their hubris.

Identification and imitation involves the ambition to transform these primordial symbols and materials of power into a purely spiritual form, but this alchemist transformation can only take place when the will to power is retracable within the artist. (written by Cem Angeli)
