Second World War veteran Richard Brinston had a tough time coping with the loss of his brother and the aftermath of the war, but the Royal Canadian Legion and his family supported him through his struggles.
Harold Pafford survived the war and two open-heart surgeries (one at age 65, the other at 80) and, at age 95, is one of only a few remaining World War Two veterans in western Newfoundland.
