The name Walter Brueggemann stands by itself. You could just say Brueggemann, and it will do the same trick.

Walter Brueggemann has dabbled a little bit in the Old Testament scriptures and casually written on its implications for our lives.

Chances are if you have a Biblical Commentary series, Brueggemann has either written it or influenced the writer. He’s credited with over 130 books and endless essays.

And then I met Walter’s co-author for “An On-Going Imagination: A Conversation about Scripture, Faith, and the Thickness of Relationship.” Once you spend a few moments reading and listening to Clover Beal, you will be able to see why the great Brueggemann has called her, "His most beloved student."

Clover is the pastor of Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church in Denver, Colorado.

The two have collaborated on this work based around a series of conversations on the Bible, spiritual formation, Sabbath, and much more.

“I want people in the congregation to do the work of relevance, and people have to decide for themselves what is relevant. What I want to do is to enrich and fund the elements of imagination that are available for people to process their life,” said Clover on the CBF Podcast Conversation.
