“11and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”” (Acts 1:11, ESV)

 

1) ASK the right questions.

 

“18“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18, ESV)

 

• Is there LIFE AFTER DEATH?

“19For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity. 20All go to one place. All are from the dust, and to dust all return. 21Who knows whether the spirit of man goes upward and the spirit of the beast goes down into the earth?” (Ecclesiastes 3:19–21, ESV)

 

2) REALIZE that this is personal!

 

“10and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,” (2 Timothy 1:10, ESV)

 

“The Easter event…is fact; and guarantees each believer’s own reembodiement by Resurrection in the world to come.” – J.I. Packer

 

3) EXAMINE  the evidence of History.

 

“I say unequivocally that the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ is so overwhelming that it compels acceptance by proof which leaves absolutely no room for doubt.” – Sir Lionel Luckhoo

 

• Did Jesus Really DIE ?

 

“50And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.” (Matthew 27:50, ESV)

 

• Was the Tomb Really EMPTY ?

 

“2And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.” (Luke 24:2–3, ESV)

 

• What did the EYEWITNESSES say?

 

“1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—” (1 John 1:1, ESV)

 

• Is there any extra-Biblical EVIDENCE?

 

Habermas an authority on ancient lit has compiled a list of 22 ancient documents that mention Jesus death and 13 that refer to His resurrection.

 

Darkness – the Bible says darkness fell over the land, well a 1st century Greek historian named Thallus, who wasn’t a Christian, wrote in 52 AD that there was a sudden darkness over the whole eastern Mediterranean – and tried to explain it away as an eclipse even tho we know that isn’t true.

 

4) ACCEPT  the verdict of History.

 

“13I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13, ESV)

 

5) GIVE  your life to Christ.

 

“21And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’” (Acts 2:21, ESV)
