The second word God uses to describe His character is gracious. In the Old Testament, this word is translated as favorable or delightful. Often the word is used to describe a gift given with delight or favor. The most extreme kind of grace is showing favor to someone who should get what they deserve not a generous gift. This characteristic is manifested in the coming of Jesus. His life, death, and resurrection are offered to us as a generous gift of life that is more powerful than death.
