:: ::

In today's episode on Let's Talk, Che interviews Broadcaster and Radio provocateur Erica Cobb from the nationally syndicated talk show The Daily Blast Live. Erica shares her experience about often being the only Black woman in the room in the media industry and the immense pressure to be infallible because she was the only Black woman in the room. For a long time, she felt pressured to put on an act to succeed. Erica discusses how hard it was to create a life of smoke and mirrors and how she found strength in backing away perfection and cultivating a career by being authentic. She describes the catalytical experience and reaction to the murder of Georgia Floyd and the transformational power of collective grief, and for the first time, the acceptance of black pain. Erica has found that truth-telling was not a risk but a path to building a meaningful life. She has fulfilled her childhood ambition to be on the radio, now she is on TV sharing her insights, and she has learned the power of her vulnerability.
