"The recording made me think of night soundscape in rural Italy, a childhood memory of a sonic picture that I feel has changed significantly today. As part of my work is to improvise with non-human animals I improvised a melody on guitar along the crickets, and then I improvised some chords on a midi keybpard on which I developed another guitar melody. The cricket sound has been modified and used for other sounds and effects, such as the chirping sound that can be heard throughout the composition. I also chose to leave the original soundscape mostly unaffected to give this idea of night soundscape."
