Reimagined sound from Jerusalem, Israel by Sonnie Carlebach.

"This reimagining seeks to draw from the context and content of the field recording by building upon the cries of the man that can be heard in a few points throughout. The man is performing a mystic Jewish practice of calling out to God in the wilderness known as 'Hitbodedut' invented by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.

"By sampling and manipulating his cries using pitch, distortion, chorus, and doubling I produced a synth sounding vocal lead for a track that draws heavily from old school UK Dubstep music. This is a genre known for contrasting dark and booming bass and atmospheric sounds with lush and ethereal synths, chords, and melodies as a contemplation upon the darkness and subtle beauty of urban life in the 2000s London.

"As such, it aptly reflected the pain and compassion expressed in this man's wailing which maintains throughout the track serving as a connection between the buildup, breakdown, and final closing section of the song."
