This girl holds 12 different Guinness World Records, is the founder of Hoop Tone and the Hoola Schoola Workshops. Marawa Ibrahim is also the author of The Girl Guide: 50 Ways to Learn to Love Your Changing Body, a beautifully illustrated book for young girls that explains everything from acne to puberty to changing the way you view your body.

Marawa has a bachelor's degree in Circus Arts, which is more than just ‘clown college.’It is impossible not to smile around this week’s guest. With her high-heeled roller skates, her love of hula hoops, and her sense of humor, Marawa is conquering the world. A professional hula hooper and performance artist, she has traveled all over the world performing, teaching, and writing.

While her life might seem magical on Instagram, Marawa is adamant that success does not mean always having fun at your job. Even a hula-hoop master has to do some “soul-destroying” work to pay the bills.

Join us for an insightful conversation in which we discuss the importance of work-life balance, the ridiculous amount of paperwork necessary for a Guinness World Record, and how expensive it is to make a high-heeled roller skate. Marawa will also recommend:

  • 2 apps for tracking your period and making your life more sparkly
  • 1 athlete to follow to inspire you to push your limits
  • 7 books to motivate you to be more creative, open, and connected to your body
