Marina Condo wears many hats--freelance copywriter, creative writer, blogger, Youtuber, book reviewer, student, and mother. With a Youtube account that has 4,000 subscribers (and videos with over 20,000 views), Marina is making waves in the Hispanic literary community. Join us for a conversation that pulls back the curtain on “the writer’s life,” and discover how to change directions, focus your creativity and connect to a community of people who share your passions.

“We as women have an amazing opportunity to show our unique way of living… Femininity is knowing the power of being myself.”

For many of us, changing careers and going back to school would seem impossible, but that is what Marina did. She gave up a full-time marketing job, became a freelance copywriter, and joined seminars to learn how to write and create comic books. In this one decision, Marina learned a lesson that she shares with us today--give yourself the chance to pursue your passions, because you never know where those passions might lead you.

“You don’t need to change your life all at once. It is the little steps towards something you like to do. Do something out of your comfort zone.”

Her willingness to learn and work hard is beginning to pay off. She has built a community of writers in Buenos Aires with her fellow students and writers, and small publishers have started to send her books to review on her increasingly popular Youtube channel. She plans to continue working as a freelance copywriter, but she is creating online writing seminars with the hope of being able to make money with her writing and give back to the community that has given her so much support. Every decision she makes is centered around community and creating a tribe of people with similar interests to support and inspire each other.

“I don’t know how this is going to end, but if the end of the world is going to catch me, I’d prefer it to catch me writing.”

Along with sharing her creative journey and her insights into writing, success, and community, Marina will also recommend:

  • 4 apps to help you manage your time and write every day
  • 3 people to follow for insight into how to better connect with your creative self
  • 2 books to spark your imagination and make you fall in love with fiction
