Joe Meagher (pronounced MARR) owns the award winning coffee shop Flat Caps Coffee in Carliol Square, Newcastle. He’s well known in the coffee competitions world and has placed in UK finals on multiple occasions.

Today he joins us to discuss some of the mistakes he has made since starting the shop in 2010 in particular how he initially set up for the customers he though he wanted and not the customers he had in his area. As we are all aware, or maybe not, opening and running a coffee shop is non an easy task and he readily admits to many mistakes along his journey to this successful coffee shop. I’m sure he’ll make many more and an even better coffee shop will emerge.
