Colchonero Chat 38: Messed up by Messi - a podcast by Colchonero Chat

There is little good in Estadio Vicente Calderón closing its gates for the last time this May, but perhaps Atlético Madrid fans can take solace in knowing that Lionel Messi will never again be able to score a goal in the stadium. One half of this edition of Colchonero Chat is glad that will be the case.

Renato Gonçalves (@SBNRenato) is a manager at Barça Blaugranes, SB Nation’s Barcelona blog. He is the guest on this edition of Colchonero Chat, here to relive Barça running out 2-1 winners again in spite of wobbly form and in a brand new 3-4-3 formation. Jeremy and Renato discuss what the result means for both teams: whether or not Messi and Marc-André ter Stegen have reignited a title charge, and whether or not Atlético can fight back and still crack the top three. That’s just the start of this wide-ranging and very entertaining discussion. Does Atleti’s league form more resemble the Undertaker or is it Spain’s answer to Arsenal? And just how far does Renato’s love of Jorge Sampaoli go?

(Seriously, this is a fun episode.)
