I understand that because of my sin, I stood guilty before God the Creator. You might say, how much sin could a four-year-old be guilty of? That's where we actually get it wrong where we think that only those who commit large sins or pile up a lifetime of sins are in need of the salvation that Jesus has to offer.

The truth is, as a four-year-old, I already knew how to lie, steal, disobey and be devious. Nobody taught me those things. I knew those things because it was in me. It was the sin nature I was born with…the sin nature we are all born with.

Luckily, I was taught that God is love and God is just. Now because of His justice, even my four-year-old sin debt would not be overlooked and would still be punished. All of us should understand that a good judge can never let guilty people go free.

But thankfully, God is love and He loves mankind and seeks to restore the relationship that our sin has damaged. He was able to satisfy both through the work of Jesus Christ and collect the just payment that had to be made for all of mankind's guilt through what Jesus did on the cross.
