A military exists for two primary reasons: to deter and if necessary, destroy foreign aggression towards the citizenry.  Yet in 2021 our military is asked to be diverse, to help with equity and even to (somehow) combat climate change.  We take a look at militaries throughout histories, the successful and not so successful and bring these lessons to our times.
